Welcome
to Map the Bible, a curriculum that pulls together Bible study
skills, Biblical Geography, History, and Archaeology. We're
going to use some great Bible study tools, critical thinking skills,
and a little creativity, to study the Bible and and map it out. Why?
Because those maps in the back of your Bible aren't part of the
inspired Word of God, and they may contain errors or incomplete
information, based on tradition or an incorrect interpretation of the
Bible. We're going to TEST those maps, weighing them against
the Word, to make sure they line up with the biblical account, and
then we'll MAP THE BIBLE!
This
course assumes a biblical worldview. It treats the Bible as the
inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God, as recorded in its
original languages. As such, it is the authoritative standard
by which all knowledge must be measured. Other historical
documents will be consulted in our journey, as well, but with
cautious scrutiny.
A
word about English translations of the Bible: We will be using
several different versions of the Bible in this study, for various
purposes. Sometimes the translation we're using is an integral
part of the study. If you prefer another version over the one
we're using at the time, please feel free to read the passages in
your preferred Bible, as well.
By
the way, we are Brett and Jennifer Bartlett, and we've been
homeschooling since 1997. As of this printing, we have six
children from kindergarten to college, and we have always approached
the Bible as the true Word of God. It is "living and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword," (Heb. 4:12) filled with
inexhaustible subject material, so it serves as the core for our
studies in History, Science, Language Arts, Theology, Prophecy and
Principles for Living. Please join us in this adventure, as we
explore Earth from Heaven's perspective. Blessings on your journey of
truth and understanding!
